Point-of-care testing enables rapid clinical decisions through immediately available results for anticoagulation management, glycemic control, and infectious disease screening. Clinical significance assessment distinguishes between statistical variations and meaningful changes requiring intervention, considering patient-specific factors and trending results over time. Reference range interpretation addresses population variations, methodology differences, and condition-specific targets beyond standard laboratory norms.
